Biography
Lutz Gregor was born in 1952 in Berlin. He studied German and Political Science and has since then worked in Media Education. Since 1983, he has been a freelance filmmaker for television broadcasters, particularly in the fields of dance and film. After establishing himself in the sphere of experimental documentaries, he began to specialize in video dance film. His films include: "The Wall" ("Die Mauer", short documentary, 1986), "Der Gehaengte im Garten der Venus" (short, 1988), "Angelus Novus" (1991), "Kontakt Triptychon" (1992) - winner of a cinematography award at the Grand Prix Vidéo Dance Paris in 1992, and "Koenigskinder" (2001). Several dance film productions have resulted from his own dance practice, Contact Improvisation.
