Biography

Lilith Grasmug was born in Paris to Austrian parents, where she also grew up. Beginning in 2016, she appeared in short films, including "Noée dans la tempête" (FR 2019), for which she won the Best Actress award at the Premiers Plans youth festival in Angers, France. Her standout role in the ensemble comedy "Oranges sanguines" ("Bloody Oranges", FR 2021) earned her a place on the Les Révélations (The Discoveries) list for the French César Awards.  

Grasmug's first leading role came in 2022 with the award-winning coming-of-age drama "Foudre" ("Thunder"), set in a Swiss mountain village. For this performance, she received an Honorable Mention at the Rome Film Fest. She took on another leading role in Claire Burger's youth drama "Tandem - In welcher Sprache träumst du?" (Langue Étrangère", FR/DE/BE 2024), which explores the growing connection between two young women, self-discovery, and the power of truth in a complex, politically charged world. The film premiered in competition at the Berlinale 2024, with its German theatrical release in October 2024.
