Biography
Krischan Koch was born in Hamburg in 1953. Studying German literature, history and art, he received a Ph.D. and subsequently worked as a gag writer for comic Otto Waalkes and as a film and TV critic for networks and newspapers.
In 1995, he directed the short "Regen in New York", which screened at numerous festivals. Koch then focused on literary criticism as well as publishing three crime novels between 2009 and 2013.
Since the early 1990s, Koch along with his wife Gaby, a lawyer, and his friend Christian Biermann-Ratjen write and perform regularly as a stand-up comedy trio under the moniker "Hamburger Spottverein".
Krischan Koch is still writing film reviews for German network NDR.
