Konstantin Ferstl was born in Eichstätt in 1983 and was raised in Abensberg (Bavaria). Following his high school graduation and civil service, he became engaged in provincial politics. In 2004, he enrolled in the director's class at the renowned Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen (HFF) in Munich. For his music to Hans Hege's short "Schattenkind" (2005), he was nominated for the "Best Composer Award" at the Sapporo Film Festival. Following several shorts, he directed his first feature film "Wie es bliebt" (2007). In 2008, his film "Tage wie Jahre" premiered at the Hofer Filmtage.
Ferstl's second feature film, the offbeat "Trans Bavaria", also premiered in Hof and was released in early 2012.
