Biography
Jörg Kalt, born 1967 in the French city of Suresnes, studied German and Law and worked for several years as a journalist. In Prague he attended FAMU film academy and then studied at Wiener Filmakademie. He already won several awards for his short films at the International Student Film Festival Vienna during his stay at the academy. Kalt"s feature film debut "Richtung Zukunft durch die Nacht" (2002) won the "First Steps Award" and the price of the jury at the Max Ophuels prize film festival.
Five years later, Kalt"s second movie, the drama "Crash Test Dummies", opened in German theatres after winning several awards at international film festivals.
While working on two new projects, Jörg Kalt killed himself July 1, 2007.
