Biography

Haim Tabakman was born in Israel in 1975. He studied directing for film and television at Tel Aviv University. Already with his first short "Free Loaders", he got an invitation to the Cinefondation at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival. The following year, his second short "The Poet’s Home" was also invited to Cannes. Apart from his own films, Tabakman also worked as an editor for other directors, including David Volach"s "My Father My Lord", In 2009, Tabakman presents his first feature film "Du sollst nicht lieben" at the Cannes IFF. The homosexual love story of two orthodox Jews went on to win awards at Ghent International Film Festival and the 2010 Palm Springs Film Festival.
