Géraldine Bajard was born in Switzerland and was raised in Saudi-Arabia, Morocco, India and France. She learned at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris and studied theatre and film at the Sorbonne. Later, she moved to Berlin and enrolled in the directors class at the dffb. Following her diploma, she worked in publishing and collaborated in the music project "Lies and Vanities". She participated in different functions in film productions, including Angela Schanelec"s "Marseille", Valeska Grisebach"s "Sehnsucht", Pia Marais" "Die Unerzogenen" and Jessica Hausner"s "Lourdes".
In 2010, she completed her feature film debut "La Lisière – Am Waldrand". The drama about a young MD moving into a closed community in the countryside premiered at Locarno International Film Festival.
