Fabian Möhrke was born in Berlin in 1980. In 2010, he graduated from the director's class of the Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen in Potsdam-Babelsberg. His final 40-minute student film "Pilipp" (2010) screened successfully at several festivals and also garnered awards, including the First Step Award.
Möhrke went on to direct commercials before presenting his first feature length film at the 2013 Hofer Filmtage: The tragicomedy "Millionen" tells the story of an average man whose life is derailed when he wins a lottery jackpot of 22 million Euro. The film was named Best Picture at the 2014 Achtung Berlin Festival and was released theatrically in July 2014.
