Emilia Kowalski, born in Hamburg in 2011, made her debut in front of the camera with a leading role in the short film "Through her Eyes" (2018), about a girl who reconciles her quarreling parents with a loving gesture. The following year, Sherry Hormann cast her in a supporting role in the two-part TV movie "Altes Land" (broadcast 2020), in which she portrayed Iris Berben's main character at a young age. Also in 2019, Kowalski played her first leading role in a feature film: the title role in "Lauras Stern" ("Laura's Star", directed by Joya Thome), based on the 2004 children's book series and animated film of the same name. The film opened in theaters in December 2021. Shortly before that, Emilia Kowalski was in front of the camera in a supporting role for the miniseries "Neuland" (airing: 2022).
