Biography

Dunya Ramadan was born in Berlin in 2009. She made her acting debut in 2017 alongside her father Kida Khodr Ramadan in the series "4 Blocks," as the daughter of his character, a Berlin clan boss. She played her first leading role in the feature film "Man from Beirut" (2019), also alongside her father: he played a blind hitman who refuses to kill a young girl and instead takes her under his wing. After numerous festival screenings, "Man from Beirut" was only released in drive-in theaters in the spring of 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. At the same time, Dunya Ramadan also appeared in the second and third seasons of "4 Blocks" in 2018/2019 and made a small appearance in "In Berlin wächst kein Orangenbaum" (2020), directed by her father.

At the end of 2021, she was in front of the camera for the eight-part comedy series "Greenlight" and the family series "Der Schiffsarzt," which will both air in 2022. Before that, in January 2022, "Égalité" was released in theaters. The drama is about a 14-year-old girl who goes blind after a seemingly harmless tonsil operation, and whose father is reaching breaking point as he battles the medical establishment. The film was directed by Kida Khodr Ramadan.
