Biography

Dietmar Klein was born in Koblenz in 1959. After studying German and Politics, he worked for a production company making industrial films and completed his training as a sound engineer. He was a sound engineer at ZDF in Mainz from 1985. He studied at the German Film & Television Academy (dffb) in Berlin from 1987-1991. His films include "Solinger Rudi" (1991), "Der Erdnussmann" (1992), and "Kings of Evergreen" (1996), as well as numerous documentaries. He was awarded the Audience Award and the prize for Best Newcomer Film at the Ophuels Festival Saarbruecken for "Solinger Rudi" and "Der Erdnussmann". In recent years, he has been working primarily for television, including: "Freiwild" (1998), "Polizeiruf 110 - Blutiges Eis" (1999)," Liebe, Tod & viele Kalorien" (2000), "Sieben Tage im Paradies" (2001), "Personal Trainer" (2001), and "Der Blaue Vogel" (2001).
