Claudia Basrawi, born 1962 in Beirut, works as an author, screenplay writer, translator and as an actor. Basrawi studied political science and is part of the artist"s collective "Gruppe M" that is located in Berlin and Hamburg. Within the collective, Basrawi staged performances, lectures, and psycho-geographic experiments on the experience of cities. She is (co-)author, editor, and translator of several collections of stories and essays, among them an anthology of short stories by authors like Mark Twain or Robert Louis Stevenson. In 2006, Basrawi made her movie debut as an actor in the satiric comedy "Die Quereinsteigerinnen".
