Biography

Christoph Schuch, born January 13, 1965, in Frankfurt/Main, studied visual communication at Kassel university and film at the Lisbon film academy. In 1991, he set up the label Avanti-Film and started to produce documentary films about cultural and natural topics. Then, in 1992, Schuch finished the short film "Stichpunkt Herz" about women who had been left by pop singers. Since 1994, Schuch works as a freelance filmmaker. He also teached film-making at the department of media economy of Fachhochschule Wiesbaden. In 2001, Schuch"s documentary film "Der Traum ist aus" about German rock band "Ton Steine Scherben" won the public choice award of "Best documentary film" at the Grenzlandfilmtage Selb festival. In "Self-Made Paradise" (2007), Schuch portrays five Finnish bohemians, who consequently live out their individual ideas of life.
