Biography

Carol Schuler who was born on January 23, 1987 in Winterthur, Switzerland, started taking ballet and step dance classes at Claudia Corti's ballet school in Winterthur when she was just five years old. She kept taking ballet classes for 13 years while also taking singing classes with different teachers from 1998 to 2004. In addition, she acted in a variety of children's theatre productions at Stadttheater Winterthur.

After debuting as a movie actress with a short appearance in Fredi M. Murer's "Vollmond" (CH) in 1998, Schuler was awarded the Swiss Film Prize as Best Actress in 2002 for her leading role in "Lieber Brad" when she was just 14. In the movie she stars as a 12 year old student who keeps writing letters to Hollywood star Brad Pitt until her family situation starts to change and she is forced to re-think her plans for her life and her little girl dreams.

 

From 2006 to 2009, Carol Schuler went to study acting at Europäisches Theaterinstitut Berlin. After several appearances in minor and major supporting roles in TV productions like "Alles bleibt anders" (CH/GER, 2006) and "Liebe und andere Unfälle" (CH, 2012), she featured in Christoph Schaub's comedy "Nachtlärm" ("Lullaby Ride", 2012) in a key supporting role as a car thief.

Carol Schuler is also a singer and member of the alternative pop band "Carol & The Fall" which she founded together with composer and singer Andy Fall in 2011.
