Andy Siege was born in Nairobi/Kenya in 1985 as the son of German aid workers and spent his childhood growing up between Africa and Europe. When asked as a small child what he wanted to be as an adult he would say: "Cowboy, and Film Director." He published his first short story in the German children's magazine "Der Bunte Hund" when he was 13 and has written and directed various short films and stage plays since then. He studied Creative Writing and Film in Canada, and in 2010, gained a Masters Degree in Political Science from the University of Bath in the UK. In 2011 he founded the production company Kalulu Entertainment Ltd. together with Pascal Dawson. "Beti and Amare" is his first feature film.
