Biography
Anders Morgenthaler was born in Copenhagen on December 5, 1972. After graduating from high school, he worked as an animator and designer for Interactive Television Entertainment. In 1995, he enrolled at the Designskolen Kolding, and, following his diploma, he studied at National Film School of Denmark. While still in film class, he directed several episodes of the Danish TV series "FC Lisby" (DK 1999) and also enjoyed success as a comic artist and cartoonist. After several shorts, music videos and a TV adaptation of his cartoon "Wulffmorgenthaler" (2005), he made his feature film debut with "Princess" (DK 2006). The animated film about a priest who avenges the death of his sister won awards at several international festivals, but was also criticized by some for its excessive violence and controversial moral views. The next year, Morgenthaler directed the horror film "Ekko", which screened at the Hamburg Film Festival. He went on to helm several shorts, and in 2012, he contributed a segment to the omnibus film "The ABCS of Death" (USA/NZ).
Anders Morgrenthaler's third feature "Um jeden Preis" ("The 11th Hour") premiered at the 2014 Hamburg Film Festival. The thriller was released theatrically in the summer of 2015.
