Maxim Mehmet, born July 2, 1975, in Kassel, studied at Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen "Konrad Wolf" in Potsdam Babelsberg. During that time he already appeared in several short films by his fellow students and in some theatre productions. He became known to a wider public when he played a corporal in Leander Haussmann"s comedy "NVA" (2005). After several TV productions, including a role in the elaborate two-part TV movie "Der Untergang der Pamir" (2006), Mehmet starred in two movie productions that premiered in 2008: He played the leading role in the tragicomedy "Fleisch ist mein Gemüse" and starred in a key supporting role in the historic drama "Der Rote Baron" alongside Til Schweiger and Matthias Schweighöfer.
