Film synopsis: When the GDR functionary Haug dies unexpectedly, his daughter Elisabeth, who grew up privileged, has to come to terms with her new life and starts looking at her surroundings with different eyes. She engages with a critical school friend and with her depressed mother and also re-establishes contact with her brother, who distanced himself from the parental home a long time ago. She argues with Kratt, her father's successor. She takes part in a rally in Berlin, where "attendance is compulsory" for all FDJ members. And for all her critical reflection, she reprimands a drunk who wants to throw the FDJ flag out of the train window.
