Film synopsis: Max Taurus is a self-proclaimed detective. He roams the city in search of a murder case still to be solved or a crime to be prevented. An old, dilapidated house, over which the wrecking ball is hanging like a sword of Damocles, arouses his interest - it seems to be the perfect scene for the abysses of the underground world. Inside he meets a group of people who have the intention to "neglect themselves with tremendous pleasure". Max threatens to lose himself in this labyrinth.

"Macumba" was digitized by Deutsche Kinemathek as part of the film heritage funding program "Förderprogramm Filmerbe" (FFE) in 2020.
