Film synopsis: England in the late 17th century: The rich industrialist Thomas Smithers commissioned the Dutch landscape gardener Meneer Chrome to create the most impressive of all gardens in his extensive estate. What he does not know is that Chrome was simultaneously hired by Fitzmaurice to bankrupt Smithers with this commission. But intrigues and affairs are not only spun on a business level until an assassination attempt is finally made.

"The Serpent's Kiss" was digitized by NEF Filmproduktion & Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH as part of the film heritage funding program "Förderprogramm Filmerbe" (FFE) in 2019.

filmportal.de, the central internet platform for German cinema and a department of DFF - Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum, documents the progress and results of "Förderprogramm Filmerbe", which is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, the German federal states and the German Federal Film Board.
