Lina Hähnle is feeding chickens at the edge of a garden pond with a fountain. A man approaches, and Lina Hähnle greets him with a handshake and offers him some sandwiches on a tray, which she takes from her feeding box. Other people arrive at the fountain, including a lady in a large hat and several uniformed men. One of the uniformed men takes a gas mask from a canister around his neck and puts it on. The lady in the hat picks flowers, while Hermann Hähnle, also in uniform, stands next to a pavilion (part of an organ prospectus) and watches the chickens run free. Lina Hähnle continues to feed the chickens in the presence of children.

Hermann Hähnle, lying in the grass, gets up when his mother appears with a shovel. Lina Hähnle loosens the soil with the shovel, and ducks peck at the loosened soil while Hermann Hähnle crumbles clumps of dirt with his hands. Children and a man in a straw hat join them. The ducks run toward a pond surrounded on one side by a wire fence. In another scene, a woman in a garden helps a toddler take off his pants and lifts him up. Adults and children are feeding the ducks. The mother places the toddler in a small cart-like cart (Berner Wägele), and an older boy with a whip sits beside them while the mother offers bananas to the children.

The camera then shows a street corner with a metal fence in the background and at the left edge of the frame. A girl with pigtails pulls a cart toward the camera, followed by an open two-horse carriage. The carriage stops and four people, including Lina and Hermann Hähnle in uniform, get out. They are greeted by children and adults coming out of a garden gate. The horses are being fed by a girl and patted by the adults. Lina Hähnle taps Hermann Hähnle on the shoulder, causing him to stand at attention. The cameraman, Trautwein, appears in uniform with a wooden tripod and greets everyone. Lina Hähnle then leaves in the carriage.
