Summary
TV miniseries based on western novels by Karl May, including "Winnetou I", "Der Schatz im Silbersee" and "Winnetou III". The first episode "Eine neue Welt" relates how young German engineer Karl May travels to America to work for a railway company in the Wild West. There, he eventually befriends Apache chief Winnetou and – now named Old Shatterhand – joins his tribe in their fight against the ruthless henchman of the company that aims to build a track right through Native territory. Second episode "Das Geheimnis vom Silbersee" sees Winnetou's sister Nscho Tschi being kidnapped by a brutal gangster looking for a famous Apache treasure. In the third and final episode "Der letzte Kampf", Winnetou and Old Shatterhand have to unite warring tribes in order to stop a scheming criminal from taking control of an oil field.
