The Odd Monk

Documentary film about the different manifestations of Buddhism in different parts of the world. Starting point of the world trip is Thailand, where filmmaker Jesco Puluj meets a Canadian who lives as a Buddhist monk in the mountains. Through meditation he has found his inner peace. Further stations are Japan, China, Nepal and Africa, and everywhere Buddhism is lived in different ways. The central questions that the film seeks to answer are what the essence of Buddhism is and what makes being a monk so appealing and satisfying.
