Summary
Screen adaptation of the novel by Stefanie De Velasco: Best friends Nini and Jameelah are both 14 years old and live in the same housing complex in Berlin. Jameelah's family is from Iraq and might be deported if their application for citizenship isn't approved, but right now, the girls try not to worry about these existential problems. They look forward to the Berlin summer and the school holidays. Enjoying their favorite drink Tiger Milk (a blend of milk, passion fruit and brandy), they stroll through the city accompanied by their buddy Nico and little Amir. They also fantasize about losing their virginity, which they hope will eventually happen this summer. Yet then Nini and Jameelah witness how the ongoing conflict between Amir's older brother Tarik and his sister escalates dramatically – and nothing will ever be the same again.
