Summary
The documentary explores how the Stasi sought to control East German soccer in the 1970s, viewing it as one of the last spaces for free expression. Supporting a club could be a political statement, and stadiums offered a rare outlet for voicing discontent with the regime. To maintain control, the Stasi used bribery, intimidation, surveillance, forced transfers, and even murder to secure the success of its favored club, BFC Dynamo. Through eyewitness accounts and an analysis of Stasi files, the film offers a compelling glimpse into life under the communist regime.
