Summary
In this music documentary, members of the Spider Murphy Gang, one of the central bands of the Neue Deutsche Welle, look back on their career, which was marked by great success but also by low blows. While they are on a sold-out anniversary tour, singer and bassist Günther Sigl and guitarist Barny Murphy report about their beginnings as a Bavarian Rock 'n' Roll band with gigs in small Munich clubs and about their rise to fame after the release of their biggest hit "Skandal im Sperrbezirk", which was followed by further top 10 hits in the 1980s. Without shame, they also tell of the dark sides of fame, such as drug excesses, which are not uncommon in the rock and roll scene. The film, which was made on the occasion of the band's 40th anniversary, combines interviews with former and current band members, images of locations of their career and many previously unreleased archive and concert recordings.
