Summary
Shadow Child
Children in very special life situations, such as those caused by seriously ill siblings, for example, would never describe themselves as 'shadow children'. They live life almost as a matter of course with their siblings and the daily restrictions within and outside their families. They learn to cope with their life situation in very special shelters. Resilience is gained by children through very special support within and outside their families, as such the term 'shadow child' needs to be redefined.
