Oskar und Leni

Deutschland 1998/1999 Spielfilm

Summary

Oskar And Leni

Oskar, who was an Olympic swimming champion in Munich in 1972, had made headlines for over fourteen years as the most wanted jewellery thief in Europe until he finally got a bullet in the head in 1987 during a robbery and was sentenced to fifteen years in prison.

After nine years he is released on parole due to diminished responsibility and good behaviour. In the underground, he comes across Leni, assembly line worker in a cake factory, occasional prostitute and cabaret artiste. They look into each other′s eyes and that′s it. While Leni does everything to see him again, Oskar escapes into the anonymity of the big city. But the power of love is too strong: Oskar and Leni′s dreams interconnect: they come together and cannot leave each other alone. While Leni′s quest becomes ever more desperate and hopeless, Oskar is gripped by the longing for love and doubts about his escape. By chance, he sees Leni again and now it′s him who′s following her...
