Summary
Scars in concrete
Anna, 23, is struggling to bring up her three children. Ever since her husband
began having an affair – a liaison he doesn’t even bother to conceal –
Anna has found herself being pushed inexorably towards an emotional
state of emergency. Suffering her domestic situation in silence, she does
her best to keep the family together. It’s no wonder she can’t quite accept
her latest pregnancy – choosing instead to keep it a secret right up until the
birth, which, when it comes, takes her completely by surprise.
