Summary
In her documentary, Serpil Turhan follows three Kurdish women from different generations over a period of three years. All three women live in Berlin, but originally come from villages in eastern Turkey. In the film they talk about their longing for belonging, homeland and freedom and give deep insights into their feelings and thoughts. Against the backdrop of political changes in Turkey, "Köy" (Turkish for village) tells the story of the decisions the three women have to make for themselves.
