Summary
Adolf Winkelmann, who was studying at the Staatliche Werkkunstschule Kassel at the time, strapped a camera pointed at himself around his waist and filmed himself walking through the pedestrian zone in Kassel pre-Christmas. The almost flowing camera movement is accompanied by a floating, minimalist chorale. In the centre of the picture, Winkelmann is always seen from a slight angle, his gaze stubbornly directed straight ahead. Behind him, the many passers-by come into view as they turn to look at him. Finally, the freezing filmmaker eats a hot bratwurst.
