Joschka und Herr Fischer

Deutschland Schweiz 2010/2011 Dokumentarfilm

Summary

In "Joschka und Herr Fischer", documentary filmmaker Pepe Danquart portrays politician Joseph "Joschka" Fischer and his exceptional career. He was a student protester and urban guerrilla in the 1960s, a part-time cab driver and rebel, and later a founding figure of the political party "Die Grünen". He then became secretary for the environment in Hesse , and finally – now wearing custom-made suits – was appointed as Germany′s foreign minister. Fischer′s eventful life leads the viewer through five decades of German post-war history: From the reactionary climate of the 1950s, through the beginnings of the student and anti-nuclear protest movements, to the founding of the green party, and culminating with the fall of the Berlin wall and the election of the first federal administration consisting of SPD and "Die Grünen".
