Berlin - Pictures of A City

Berlin is experiencing its fourth renaissance in the field of architecture. Following the "Gruenderzeit" at the end of the 19th century, the gigantic building projects of the Nazi regime and the era of reconstruction in the post-war years,

the architectural reorganisation of the formerly divided city into a metropolis of global significance is now on the agenda. Berlin has already undertaken the first steps towards a city of superlatives: the biggest urban development competition has then been followed by Europe′s largest building site. The film shows a city in the midst of radical change, dwells on new and old architecture, leads the viewers over the roofs and through different parts of Berlin as if showing them through the pictures of an exhibition.
