Summary
Flights of Fancy
At first sight, the Dallingers seem to be a picture-perfect family. But appearances lie: Hans, the father, is suffering from schizophrenia and thus can't work as an architect anymore. Instead, he talks to himself, behaves erratically and is prone to aggressive outbursts. While his mother has to work hard in order to support the family, son Simon takes care of the household and his little sister Maya – not an easy task. When he makes the acquaintance of med student Verena, it's a moment of happiness in his otherwise problem-filled life. But then Hans is committed to a psychiatric ward after a violent outburst. Not only does Simon fear for his father, but he also worries about his own health since schizophrenia is a hereditary disease.
