Summary
Based on a novel by Walter Kempowski, "Herzlich willkommen" tells the story of Friedrich, who leaves East Germany after serving a ten-year prison sentence and begins working in a children's psychiatric clinic in the West. There, he faces challenges with the right-wing director, played by film director Hark Bohm, which, together with his romantic involvement with his strict supervisor Elke, have significant consequences for the "defector."
