Summary
Women in Germany. Thilo Koch Reports
There are 10 million working women in West Germany. To free them from their status as "non-entities", journalist Thilo Koch interviews them on the street and at work about their lives, plans and desires. The range of women he questioned includes industrial labourers complaining about pay inequality, as well as an entrepreneur who consciously runs her business "not like a man". Sociologist Helge Pross criticises the outdated approach to the concept of femininity. At the same time, the report cautions against "excessive emancipation".
