Summary

Biopic about the Austrian pop star Falco (real name: Hans Hölzel), who became famous all over the world with hits like "Der Kommissar" or "Rock Me Amadeus" during the 1980s. The film portrays Hölzel′s career from his childhood and his musical beginnings as the bass player of a punk band to his breakthrough as an artist and finally his death in 1998. It has never been fully resolved if Falco′s death has been an accident or a suicide. The film shows all ups and downs in the singer′s career and portrays him as an eccentric and brilliant artist who was always beset with self-doubts. The film also does not omit Falco′s drug use nor his excesses in private lifes and his failing relationships.
