Summary
Documentary on the life and work of American artist Eva Hesse. While considered a legend in the art sphere, where her works are worth millions of dollars, only few know her personal story. Made on occasion of the 2013 exhibition "Eva Hesse – One More than One" at the Hamburger Kunsthalle, the documentary chronicles Hesse's eventful, alas short life. Born to a Jewish family in Hamburg in 1936, she and her parents fled from Nazi Germany and immigrated to the United States. It took until the mid-1960s before the then almost 30-year-old discovered her artistic talent. Only a few years later, she succumbed to a brain tumor, but in the short time between, Hesse created an extraordinary body of work of lasting significance.
