Summary
Documentary on the Mexican mariachi band "Estrellas de Jalisco". In the highly competitive, male-dominated world of mariachi music, the group is an exception for all its members are women. The film accompanies the band during their performances and backstage on the "Dia de los Muertos", the Day of the Dead, Mexico's most celebrated holiday. Moreover, audiences get a glimpse of the women's everyday lives and learn why the band's music is also a form of protest against the status quo in their crime-ridden homeland.
