Summary
Covering the years 1960 to 1970, the focus of Edgar Reitz’s village and family saga „Heimat“ is the young man Hermann, one of the protagonists of the first series.
The „Second Heimat“ series begins with Hermann leaving his home town of Scabbach in the Hunrück region in order to study music and composition in Munich in the early 1960s, where he experiences a time of radical social and political change. Each one of the 13 episodes is narrated by one of his numerous friends from Munich.
