Summary
Adaptation of the nativity tale by the puppet theater company Augsburger Puppenkiste. Based on the gospels of Luke and Marcus, the adaptation liberally adds some humorous details: For instance, the story is narrated by feisty donkey Noel. Noel not only carries pregnant Mary, but also manages to find a stable for them to stay the night. Meanwhile, the three kings follow the star sign of the donkey on their way to Bethlehem and have a wisecracking Muslim camel in tow. Archangel Gabriel also is a jolly fellow, even though he keeps falling out of the sky during his big announcements.
