Die letzten Reporter

The documentary accompanies three local journalists at work and shows the changes in their profession. Tom Willmann has been writing for the Schweriner Volkszeitung in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for 25 years. As a sports reporter, he attends local events such as cycling tournaments, athletics festivals and soccer matches. People know him and appreciate his work. The fact that he will also have to supply the social networks with news snippets in the future poses certain challenges for the "classic" reporter. Then there's Werner Hülsmann, the last remaining culture editor of the Osnabrücker Nachrichten, a free advertising paper. For over 30 years, he has had the column "Werner's Cocktail" in it, with gossip from local society. The third journalist is Anna Petersen, who is still at the beginning of her career. She reports on a wide variety of things from the region for the Landeszeitung Lüneburg. But she, too, is confronted with the rapidly changing demands on her job description.
