Der Springer von Pontresina

Summary

Tielko Groots is a talented young ski jumper, training in Pontresina, Switzerland with the German student team for an upcoming ski jumping race. One day, on the slopes, he stumbles upon the young Englishwoman Violett Moore with whom he instantly falls in love. His sudden lack of interest in ski jumping and the German team, is quickly noticed by his team captain, Uli Böker, who in vain tries to convince Tielko to let Violett go and focus on the training and the competition again. As luck would have it, Uli injures himself in a ski jump, and the team is quick to blame Tielko for the incident. Incidentally, Tielko finds out that Violett is in love with her cousin, Henry MacPherson, which convinces him to focus on the team again. Luckily Uli has not given up on Tielko and gives him a second chance, appointing him as captain of the team.
