Summary
Made by a "one-man-team", André Rößler's documentary takes us on a video journey through time back to the 80s. Back then, cult video stores and VHS were still important and terms like "late fees" made us break out in sweat. This film is a humorous tribute to rip-off and trash films that never made it to any medium other than video. Along with iconic dubbings and the first Super 8 filmmaking attempts, "Demnächst auf VHS" addresses everything that made the video store era of the 70s and 80s. The footage is an exciting mix of 6K recordings and images from a 50-year-old camera. In addition to the last interview sequences of the late comedy legend Karl Dall, you can see greats like Henni Nachtsheim, Bülent Ceylan, Jasmin Schwiers, Peter Thorwarth, Uwe Boll, and many others.
