Summary
Documentary film about the artist Daniel Richter, who is considered one of the most important contemporary representatives of abstract painting. At the age of 16 he had to leave his parental home and was as a punk part of the Hamburg squatter scene. From 1991 to 1995 he studied at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts under Werner Büttner. To this day, the motifs of his paintings are also political commentaries on current world events. Over a period of three years, director Pepe Danquart observed the painter in his studio and accompanied him on trips to exhibition openings around the world. In addition, Richter also provides deep insights into his biography and private life.
