Summary
During the summer holidays in Germany, millions of Teutonic vacationers travel to Italy. Among them are the Löfflers: phlegmatic Erich, his hysterical wife Irmgard, and their overweight and not too clever son Heinz-Rüdiger are already spending their last day of holiday in their long-time bathing resort of Terracina. And they intend to enjoy it – preferably with German beer and a big "Poseidon plate" at the beach club (that has a sign announcing "man spricht deutsh"). The Löfflers have already packed their bags, checked the traffic jam warnings on German radio, and parked their car in clear, theft-proofed view. However, despite all their thorough preparations, the Löfflers are going to face some turbulent surprises on their last last day of holiday.
