Summary
Hape Kerkeling's satirical take on the inner workings of television unfolds through the eyes of Peter Schlönzke, a somewhat clumsy young man who helps his mom, grandma, and grandpa sell sandwiches in their family business. Peter harbors dreams of making it big in television. When his mom impulsively enters him into the talent show 'Witzischkeit kennt keine Grenzen,' a long-standing hit on television for twenty years, Peter faces a host who has transformed from amiable to an arrogant misanthrope, despising his own audience. Despite Peter's disastrous debut, he lands a job as a cable carrier. Through perseverance, he eventually climbs the ranks to become the show's host. However, his tenure in television proves short-lived.
