Schwere Jungs
Heavyweights
In 1952, German athletes returned to the Winter Olympics for the first time since the war. In Garmisch-Partenkirchen, flamboyant brewery owner Dorfler trains for a medal in the bobsleigh competition. Gamser, his longtime rival, and his friends also decide to compete in the Olympic qualifiers. Even their wives, who are friends, are unable to quell the rivalry between the two bobsledders. Instead, the two teams continue to fight in Oslo, where the Olympics are held, while the head of the German delegation tries to avoid a scandal at all costs.
