The Thief Lord

Film adaptation of Cornelia Funke‘s children’s book of the same name. On the run from their heartless foster parents, the two orphan children Bo and Prosper flee to the city of Venice, where they get to know the 15 year old Scipio. He is the mysterious Thief Lord, who steals from the rich to provide for his needy gang of children. One day the children discover an extremely old and magical carousel that has the power to make its passengers older or younger. But before, they have to first find a long-lost wing of a lion and fix it onto the carousel – a big challenge for the shrewd thieves, for an evil dealer in stolen goods as well as a private detective are both hot on their heals.
