Dokumentarfilm
Documentary about the emergence of the German women's movement in the late 1960s. The film focuses on mostly forgotten ideological struggles, especially the discussions about concepts of family and the raising of children. From aspects of feminist motherhood and the changing self-concepts of men as fathers, to the campaign against anti-abortion laws and the "birthing strike" of women, the film revisits key moments of the movement. The narrative frame is provided by a two-day discussion which took place in 2004 and brought together eight activists: Halina Bendkowski, Gisela Erler, Peggi Liebisch, Johanna Mierendorff, Helke Sander, Bettina Schoeller, Annegret Stopczyk and Signe Theill.
